The most common formulas
At present, we formulate, manufacture and distribute injection and compression phenolic moulding compounds tailored to such diverse sectors as the automotive industry, electricity, electronics, domestic goods or telecommunications.
Toilet seats, domestic goods such as handles for saucepans and frying pans, and electrical switches are just some of the most common items we produce.
Why?
The reason lies in the extreme strength of Versagrit® when using the product every day, as well as its capacity to withstand moisture and the elements. That strength gives the product an especially long lifespan.
Furthermore, its electrical and thermal insulation properties and its fireproof nature make our moulding powders highly suited to use as manufacturing materials for electrical switches and regulators.
But there’s more! Versagrit® has been categorised as UL94 V0, the standard for safety of flammability of plastic materials for parts in devices and appliances, which is a huge advantage over other compounds such as thermoplastic polymers.
High resistance applications
Due to its chemical nature, Versagrit® offers high resistance to electricity, heat and fire, excellent mechanical properties and a low specific weight.
These properties are hugely useful in such sectors as renewable energy, friction systems and aviation.
In fact, with some minor adjustments to the formula, Versagrit® can be used for turbine rotors, pieces in combustion engines, mechanisms or brake discs and clutches.
Its applications can be expanded even further when adding plant-based and mineral fibres that make our moulding powders hugely resistant to fatigue, impact, tension, traction, compression and wear.

Innovation, key to our special applications
Research and development form part of the Versagrit® DNA. Without them, it would be impossible to make such an innovative material that is constantly evolving and perfectly valid for the various needs expressed by our customers.
A fine example of that is our research into heat management products for power electronics targeted at electric mobility and telecommunications.
In this field, we have developed a magnetic moulding powder that enables the sintering of ferrite nuclei for NFC antennas (which requires temperatures of up to 1500ºC) to be replaced with a simple powder injection at 175ºC. This significantly reduces the energy impact without altering magnetic permeability.
Another example is the development of an injectable product with a thermal conductivity of 3 W/mK targeted at battery insulation for electric vehicles or chargers.
In turn, and with our focus always on future applications, we have begun looking into how our moulding powder might be used as raw material in 3D printing.
We transform surplus into furniture
During the production process for Versagrit® toilet seats, there is some surplus material that simply cannot be returned to the cycle to create more material. In light of our goal to reharness absolutely all our material and therefore close the circular economy, we have signed a strategic partnership with CQMassó.
This surplus material, which mainly consists of recycled plant-based raw materials, is now converted into the raw material for a new range of products. Due to the technical characteristics of the material, we can manufacture a range of furniture items for both interior and exterior spaces, including chairs, tables, decking, etc.
This approach not only lets us close the production cycle but also positions us as pioneers in the adoption of sustainable practices in our industry. We are transforming what was once surplus material into innovation, demonstrating that the circular economy is not only desirable but also achievable.
